About Steve

Steve Imholt is the Republican Nominee for State Senate in the Special Election on March 28, 2023 in District 9. He is a strong believer in limited government, individual freedom, and personal responsibility. Steve understands the challenges facing his district and is dedicated to finding practical solutions to the problems that affect his constituents. He is passionate about serving his community and is committed to fighting for the issues that matter most to the people of his district.

A married man of 48 years, Steve and his wife have lived in Richmond since 2008 where they moved to await the arrival of their first grandchild. Now, they have 6 grandchildren, four of whom live in the Richmond area. This is after successfully raising a doctor, lawyer, teacher, and IT manager. 

As a retired senior project manager, Steve has a successful track record of identifying and mitigating potential risks. Analyzing complex situations and developing commonsense solutions has been the focus of Steve’s professional career for over 30 years. Now, Steve is ready to bring his leadership experience to the Senate of Virginia to fight for you.

Steve is known throughout the community for his civic engagement where he has focused on improving literacy and educational outcomes for disadvantaged students. Steve understands the importance of a quality education for the next generation. As a budget committee chair for a local school board, Steve worked to ensure public schools received adequate funding to prepare students for their futures.
